Senior Rust Software Engineer - Industrial Automation (all genders)

About The Company

GROPYUS is a technology-based construction company focused on building multi-story residential buildings. Thanks to its prefabricated building system with a wide range of design options, automated offsite construction, and fully digitalized processes, the company is able to create resilient timber housing quickly and cost-effectively. GROPYUS is using scalable construction and manufacturing solutions to tap into a future market, strengthen Europe's innovation capacity, and play a substantial role in improving sustainability. The company delivers its multi-family houses as a complete and turnkey solution. The combination of technology, construction, robotics, and manufacturing expertise means buildings can be created in a fully digitalized end-to-end process. The building system is based on versatile wall and slab elements, making it easier to optimize land use, customize plans, and build fast with both off-site construction and on-site assembly. This system is complemented by the Building Operating System–developed in-house.

About The Role

You will join the Machine Integration & Simulation team, building the software platform that powers our machines, robots, and manufacturing systems.

Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including architecture, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operations. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop software that connects digital production workflows with physical manufacturing equipment and simulation environments.

While you will work closely with machines, robots, and industrial systems, your primary focus will be building reliable, maintainable, and observable software using modern engineering practices.

Our team is driving the evolution towards Software Defined Manufacturing, building systems that enable simulation, integration, orchestration, and operation of our production environment at scale. Rust is the primary language of the team.

Your area of responsibilities include:

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate software for machines, robots, and manufacturing systems
• Develop machine-near applications, integration services in Rust
• Build interfaces between production systems, simulation environments, and manufacturing equipment
• Own software throughout its lifecycle, from implementation to production support
• Apply modern engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve production systems
• Collaborate with software engineers, industrial engineers, and production teams to translate manufacturing requirements into robust software solutions
