Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to underserved locations.

Key Job Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software in Rust, C++, or other modern languages.
Write system applications for various satellite systems and device interfaces.
Scale up SpaceSDK to support an increasing number of satellite components.
Develop monitoring and telemetry for satellite components.
Develop security features for satellite systems.
Collaborate with other software and hardware teams.
Troubleshoot and solve critical issues on satellites orbiting in space.
Champion the quality, reliability, and security of critical code.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.

Requirements

Embedded software development

Experience in designing and developing embedded software.

Rust programming

Proficiency in Rust or similar modern programming languages.

System design experience

Experience in design patterns, reliability, and scaling of systems.

Nice to Have

Full software development life cycle

Experience with coding standards, code reviews, and testing.

Bachelor's degree

A degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
