About the Role
Company Overview
Join an innovative cyber security scale-up developing cutting-edge technology to protect some of the world's most critical networks. This business specialises in cross-domain solutions and hardware data diodes, helping organisations across defence, national security, energy and the wider public sector safeguard their most sensitive digital assets.
As part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll contribute to the development of world-leading network security products, working on technology designed, developed and manufactured in-house. This is an opportunity to join a growing business where your work has a genuine real-world impact.
Role Overview
We're looking for Software Engineers with around 4-7 years of experience to help develop the next generation of secure network technology.
You'll work across the software development lifecycle, designing, building and testing high-quality software in environments with complex security requirements. You'll be part of a collaborative, agile team that values clean code, continuous improvement and modern engineering practices, including test-driven development and pair programming.
As part of a smaller, growing business, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute beyond core software development, gaining exposure to different technologies, customer challenges and product development.
What We're Looking For
- Experience developing software using Modern C++ and the STL, or Rust.
- Knowledge of Python and its application in software development.
- Experience with Linux, bare-metal development or real-time operating systems.
- Exposure to cloud development or applications.
- An understanding of network security or secure communications.
- A commitment to writing clean, reliable and testable code.
- A collaborative approach, with an interest in pair programming, test-driven development and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Candidates should have a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary, pension and bonus scheme.
- Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements.
- Clear career progression and ongoing technical development.
- A strong learning culture with regular training opportunities.
- Flexible healthcare plans for you and your family.
- Competitive annual leave allowance.
- A collaborative team environment with regular team events and opportunities to get involved in wider business activities.
If you're a Software Engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects, develop your skills and contribute to technology that protects critical infrastructure and national security, we'd love to hear from you.
