As a Junior Embedded RUST Software Engineer, you will work with custom hardware to develop mission-critical cybersecurity devices. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to enhance advanced cybersecurity and encryption products.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a Junior Embedded RUST Software Engineer, working with custom Hardware built in-house, for our Cyber group, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing mission critical NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices in a rapidly growing product line. You’ll be working at the cutting edge of Cybersecurity and high-speed data.
Preferred Skills or Experiences
- Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software, preferably on Linux OS.
- Long development lifecycle and product lifespans, requiring maintenance and regular technology refresh.
- Demonstrated experience developing production-quality software in Rust, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining reliable applications or services.
- Proficiency with Rust’s ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, error handling, and concurrency models to build safe, performant, and maintainable software.
- Experience designing and implementing systems-level, embedded, backend, networking, or performance-sensitive software using Rust.
- Ability to develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and/or hardware-in-the-loop test coverage for Rust-based software.
- Familiarity with the Rust toolchain and ecosystem, such as Cargo, crates, dependency management, formatting, linting, and CI/CD integration.
- Experience troubleshooting complex software defects, performing code reviews, and contributing to sound software engineering practices in a collaborative development environment.
- Ability to work across disciplines—including systems, hardware, cybersecurity, test, and program teams—to translate technical requirements into robust software solutions.
- Experience with related languages (for example, C/C++, Python) and modern software development practices is a plus, particularly for integrating Rust into established codebases.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
A degree in Software Engineering or a related field is required.
Rust programming
Demonstrated experience developing production-quality software in Rust is essential.
Embedded software experience
Experience with real-time multi-threaded embedded software is preferred.
Security clearance
A Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at the time of hire.
Nice to Have
Experience with hypervisor technology is a plus.
Familiarity with Linux operating systems is beneficial.
Experience with device drivers is advantageous.
