About the Role
Kannika develops Kannika Armory, a platform that helps organizations deploy, operate, secure, and govern Apache Kafka environments across Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
We're looking for a Senior Rust Developer to help build our core platform components, automation capabilities, Kubernetes operators, and cloud-native services.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop backend services and platform components in Rust
- Build Kubernetes Operators and automation capabilities
- Develop integrations with Kafka, cloud providers, and infrastructure platforms
- Contribute to architecture and technical direction
- Improve scalability, reliability, observability, and security
- Mentor team members and drive engineering best practices
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong professional experience with Rust
- Experience building cloud-native applications and distributed systems
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including Operators, CRDs, Controllers, Helm, and RBAC
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu)
- Experience with CI/CD and containerized environments
Strong Plus
- Experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform
- Event-Driven Architecture
- Kubernetes Operator development
- GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Platform Engineering and Developer Platforms

Requirements
Rust expertise
Strong professional experience with Rust is essential.
Cloud-native applications
Experience building cloud-native applications and distributed systems is required.
Kubernetes knowledge
Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including Operators, CRDs, Controllers, Helm, and RBAC is necessary.
Cloud provider experience
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is needed.
Infrastructure as Code
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform/OpenTofu is required.
Nice to Have
Experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform is a strong plus.
Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture is beneficial.
Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux is a plus.
Knowledge of observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana is advantageous.
