About the Role
The Rust Software Engineer will join the Infrastructure Team of a leading global quantitative investment manager, focusing on the ingestion, processing, and distribution of large-scale datasets. This role involves designing scalable services, promoting engineering best practices, and resolving production issues to ensure system reliability.
What You'll Do
- Design, review, and implement scalable services and client applications.
- Contribute to and promote engineering best practices, including code reviews, design reviews, testing, and performance optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and robustness.
Who You Are
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Proficiency in Rust is mandatory.
- Experience building high-performance systems involving multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous I/O, and low-latency processing.
- Understanding of distributed data technologies and the trade-offs involved in systems such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, BigTable, Cassandra etc.

Requirements
Algorithms and Data Structures
Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design.
Proficiency in Rust
Proficiency in Rust is mandatory.
High-Performance Systems
Experience building high-performance systems involving multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous I/O, and low-latency processing.
Distributed Data Technologies
Understanding of distributed data technologies and the trade-offs involved in systems such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, BigTable, Cassandra etc.
