The employer is building next-generation trading infrastructure that brings together perpetuals, cross-chain spot, and prediction markets into a unified portfolio-margin experience.
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong production Rust experience to build high-performance systems powering real-time crypto trading.
You will work closely with the CTO and senior backend engineers on risk engines, liquidation systems, blockchain state machines, real-time market data, and low-latency APIs.
What You'll Work On
- Build and maintain risk and liquidation engines for capital-efficient trading.
- Design and implement blockchain state machines for trading, settlement, and risk operations.
- Build services that maintain consistent state across asynchronous processes using coordination, voting, and consensus mechanisms.
- Process real-time market data and coordinate time-sensitive actions across trading venues.
- Develop high-performance REST and WebSocket APIs with millisecond-level response times.
- Work on systems designed for high throughput, reliability, and low latency.
- Collaborate closely with a small, senior engineering team in a fast-paced, in-person environment.
Must-Have Skills
- 2-4 years of backend software engineering experience
- Strong production experience with Rust
- Hands-on experience with Rust asynchronous programming, particularly Tokio
- Experience building real-time, high-throughput backend systems
- Experience working with multiple database types, including relational databases, time-series databases, and key-value stores
- Strong understanding of backend/system design and performance optimization
- Genuine and demonstrable interest in trading or financial markets
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in FinTech, trading, crypto, blockchain, or financial infrastructure
- Experience with low-latency systems, trading systems, HFT, or high-performance infrastructure
- Strong understanding of WebSockets and real-time systems
- Startup or VC-backed company experience
- Strong GitHub profile demonstrating meaningful systems/Rust projects
- Personal projects in Rust or C, particularly around trading or high-performance systems
- Passion for crypto/Web3 and financial markets
Requirements
Backend software engineering
2-4 years of backend software engineering experience is required.
Rust programming
Strong production experience with Rust is essential.
Asynchronous programming
Hands-on experience with Rust asynchronous programming, particularly Tokio, is necessary.
Real-time systems
Experience building real-time, high-throughput backend systems is needed.
Database experience
Experience working with multiple database types, including relational, time-series, and key-value stores, is required.
Nice to Have
Experience in FinTech, trading, crypto, blockchain, or financial infrastructure is preferred.
Experience with low-latency systems, trading systems, HFT, or high-performance infrastructure is a plus.
Strong understanding of WebSockets and real-time systems is beneficial.
Experience in a startup or VC-backed company is advantageous.
A strong GitHub profile demonstrating meaningful systems/Rust projects is a plus.
