About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Platform Engineer to join BlackRock’s AI Platform Engineering team within the Aladdin Engineering division. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence the development of innovative AI ecosystems that support the firm’s investment management technology platform. As part of this team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient AI infrastructure that enables advanced machine learning and data science capabilities. Your expertise will directly impact the firm’s ability to leverage AI and cloud-native technologies to enhance decision-making processes and deliver value to clients worldwide.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a B.S./M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You should have over 10 years of experience in software and platform engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, cloud-native systems. Expertise in Kubernetes, containerization technologies, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential. Proficiency in programming languages like Rust, C++, and Python, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and distributed systems, is required. Additionally, a solid understanding of networking, security, and data science tools will be advantageous. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in an agile, multi-office environment are also important.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the next-generation scalable AI platform to support BlackRock’s investment management technology ecosystem.
• Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for deploying and scaling AI models efficiently.
• Build platform abstractions to manage cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
• Create and maintain automated pipelines for continuous training, testing, and deployment of machine learning models, incorporating enterprise security and compliance standards.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and high performance of the AI platform through proactive troubleshooting and optimization.
• Translate complex business and functional requirements into scalable and robust technical solutions.
• Apply industry best practices for software engineering throughout the development lifecycle, emphasizing quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in AI, cloud engineering, and related technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into the platform.
