Middle Rust Engineer

Job Description

As a Middle Rust Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance, low-latency backend services in Rust. You will work on systems such as market data ingestion, streaming pipelines, order and portfolio services, and pricing or analytics engines.

Your responsibilities will include writing safe, well-tested, maintainable code with a strong focus on correctness and observability, collaborating with product, data, and platform teams to ship features end to end, and participating in code reviews, architecture discussions, and on-call rotation for services you own.

You will also help improve engineering practices, tooling, and performance across the team.

Required Skills And Experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Solid hands-on experience with Rust in production, or strong systems experience (C++, Go, etc.) with demonstrated Rust work.
• Good understanding of ownership, lifetimes, traits, and async Rust (Tokio or similar).
• Experience building backend services and APIs (REST, gRPC, or WebSocket).
• Familiarity with relational and/or time-series databases (PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, etc.).
• Experience with messaging or streaming systems (Kafka, NATS, Redpanda or similar).
• Comfort with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Clear communication and a collaborative mindset.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in fintech, trading, brokerage, payments, or other regulated domains.
• Knowledge of financial market concepts (equities, ETFs, order books, FIX protocol).
• Low-latency or performance tuning experience (profiling, lock-free structures, SIMD).
• Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Open-source Rust contributions.
