About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Develop and extend ground-station features including mission planning, command dispatch, and telemetry visualization.

Own the real-time telemetry and command communication pipeline between ground station and vehicle.

Maintain build stability and code quality across the application's frontend and backend.

Contribute to technical direction on the platform's software architecture, including evaluating and potentially executing a migration to a different technology stack, under the Program Lead's direction.

Coordinate with the flight-software team to keep data interfaces consistent as features evolve.

Maintain appropriate security practices on the ground communication link.

Required Qualifications

B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years full-stack development experience.
Strong working proficiency in Rust and TypeScript/React.
Strong working proficiency in Python and Qt (PySide6/PyQt).
Experience building real-time or near-real-time desktop applications (telemetry dashboards, control systems, or mapping/GIS interfaces).
Familiarity with WebSocket and/or gRPC-based client-server communication.
Comfortable working with native desktop application frameworks (e.g. Tauri, Electron, or Qt-based), not just web-only frontend development.
Experience with map/GIS rendering libraries (e.g. MapLibre GL, Mapbox GL, Leaflet).

Good to Have

Prior ground-control-station, SCADA, or similar mission-critical desktop software experience.
Experience owning a cross-language rewrite or migration of a production desktop application.
Experience with binary/custom wire protocols for telemetry or command data.

Requirements

Full-Stack Development

5+ years of experience in full-stack development is required.

Rust Proficiency

Strong working proficiency in Rust is essential for this role.

Python and Qt

Experience with Python and Qt (PySide6/PyQt) is necessary.

Real-Time Applications

Experience building real-time or near-real-time desktop applications is required.

WebSocket/gRPC Knowledge

Familiarity with WebSocket and/or gRPC-based client-server communication is needed.

Nice to Have

Mission-Critical Software Experience

Prior experience with ground-control-station or SCADA software is beneficial.

Cross-Language Migration

Experience in owning a cross-language rewrite or migration of a production application is a plus.

Custom Protocols

Experience with binary/custom wire protocols for telemetry or command data is advantageous.
