Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We work in the open - our code and reviews are open source. We are currently running on millions of Google smart displays, and soon expanding to other form factors. This opportunity is to work on Fuchsia’s secure, reliable, flexible Bluetooth stack.

In Fuchsia, we are rethinking Bluetooth interaction in a multi-device, multi-user model and exploring the full functionality of existing and proposed new Bluetooth Specifications. This is a unique opportunity to implement a widely popular connectivity stack, placing a particular emphasis on stability, security and flexibility.

Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.

Responsibilities

• Implement new Bluetooth profiles in Rust.
• Develop APIs that applications use to connect and communicate with Bluetooth devices.
• Complete system-level integration efforts with networking, media, and input layers.
• Participate in end-to-end integration and certification tests.
• Work with Audio and other subsystem teams to implement next generation capabilities including Low Energy Audio.
