The Senior Backend Engineer role focuses on building core backend infrastructure for an early-stage cybersecurity company addressing identity and security challenges posed by AI agents. This hands-on individual contributor position requires strong Rust experience and offers the opportunity to work closely with the technical leadership team.
What You'll Do
- Senior IC — architecture + hands-on engineering
- Work directly with the founders / technical leadership
- Small engineering team with high ownership
- Build core identity infrastructure for AI agents
- Potential to grow into broader technical leadership over time
- Oakville / GTA — ~3 days in office
Who You Are
You should have strong production Rust experience and a background in hardware security integration, particularly with HSMs or other hardware security devices. Experience in middleware or reverse proxy development, as well as security and cryptography knowledge, is highly valuable.
