Rust Engineer - AWS & Microservices

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop REST and gRPC microservices using Rust.
- Build services using Tokio, Axum/Actix Web, Serde, and Cargo.
- Develop APIs based on OpenAPI and Protobuf contracts.
- Implement business logic, API validation, error handling, persistence, caching, messaging, and resilient service integrations.
- Integrate AWS services including S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
- Develop asynchronous and concurrent applications with appropriate timeouts, retries, backoff, idempotency, and failure handling.
- Implement structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and correlation/trace IDs using Rust tracing, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and AWS X-Ray.
- Write unit, integration, API/contract, and component tests and maintain quality using cargo test, Clippy, and rustfmt.
- Containerize applications using Docker and support deployments through EKS/ECS/Fargate and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot application and performance issues involving latency, CPU, memory, I/O, networking, and asynchronous workloads.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, production support, defect resolution, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
Rust programming
Proficiency in Rust for developing microservices.
AWS services
Experience integrating various AWS services into applications.
Microservices architecture
Understanding of REST and gRPC microservices design.
Asynchronous programming
Ability to develop asynchronous and concurrent applications.
Nice to Have
Containerization
Familiarity with Docker for application containerization.
CI/CD pipelines
Experience with CI/CD tools for deployment automation.
