About the Role
The role involves designing and building real-time platforms for a FinTech startup, focusing on scalable APIs and high-performance microservices. As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of features from concept to production, addressing complex distributed systems challenges.
What You Will Do
- Design scalable APIs and high-performance microservices
- Understand computing systems and HPC
- Optimise data layers and query performance within PostgreSQL relational databases
- Deploy, scale, and maintain distributed backend systems containerised via Docker and orchestrated within Kubernetes environments
- Implement modern engineering practices, ensuring high test coverage, robust version control, and seamless continuous integration (CI/CD pipelines)
What We Are Looking For
- Backend Engineering Experience: Strong track record of writing production grade, asynchronous Python code alongside another backend tech stack like Java, Golang or Rust
- System Design Expertise: Solid understanding of software architecture, data modeling, and RESTful API design patterns
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with containerised workflows using Kubernetes and cloud environments
Compensation
Salary: Up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Working Environment
Hybrid working – 3 days per week in London (with 4/5 during probation)
