We’re looking for a mid-level Rust Software Engineer to develop and optimize data-rich applications that help users explore complex scenarios and make informed decisions. You’ll work in a substantial production Rust codebase, collaborating with researchers and engineers to turn sophisticated technical ideas into fast, reliable, maintainable software.
Your work will extend beyond individual algorithms—connecting backend capabilities with databases, front-end applications, and the infrastructure that brings everything together.
What You’ll Do
- Build production software in Rust, contributing to a large, evolving codebase.
- Optimize computationally intensive algorithms to improve performance and efficiency.
- Develop backend services and asynchronous code using tools such as Axum and Tokio.
- Connect services, databases, and front-end applications into working systems.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate complex concepts into practical software.
- Support the infrastructure and integrations your applications depend on.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience writing production-grade, performance-sensitive software in Rust.
- Experience building backend services with tools such as Axum.
- Experience with asynchronous programming using tools such as Tokio.
- Familiarity with full-stack web application development.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to collaborate with researchers, engineers, and end users.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with Java, Python, or TypeScript/React.
- Experience writing optimized parallel code or GPU code.
