At Domesly, we are pioneering real-time, active voice-coaching technology for high-performance cyclists. While legacy tools focus on pre-ride planning (TrainingPeaks, Zwift) or post-ride post-mortems (Strava, Intervals.icu), Domesly acts as an active digital Directeur Sportif while the rider is pedaling. By pairing live sensor telemetry (Bluetooth power meters, HR monitors, cadence) with real-time edge AI models and open-ear bone conduction audio hardware, we deliver instantaneous voice directives (pacing, W' balance threshold protection, interval timing) directly to the rider without taking their eyes off the road or blocking ambient traffic noise.
The Opportunity: Rust Developer
We are seeking a hands-on, high-velocity Rust Developer to build and own the core real-time processing engine for Domesly at our Vizag innovation hub. In this role, you will lead the development of our high-performance systems code—focusing on BLE device integrations, sub-150ms biometric edge computing, and cross-platform Rust targets for mobile and embedded devices. Working side-by-side with our engineering team, you will help scale our tech stack from a working prototype to global mass commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Real-Time Engine (Rust): Architect and build the core edge-processing engine in Rust to handle live Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor streams (power, cadence, heart rate) and compute physiological metrics (e.g., live W' balance, fatigue curves) with sub-150ms latency.
- Low-Latency Audio Logic: Work on adaptive text-to-speech (TTS) pipelines to deliver concise, context-aware audio directives via bone-conduction hardware.
- Mobile & Ecosystem Integration: Package and bridge core Rust telemetry and calculation libraries into iOS and Android application layers. Support two-way API integrations with third-party cycling platforms (Garmin, Wahoo, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu, Zwift).
- Hardware & Firmware Collaboration: Partner with embedded hardware teams and partners to optimize power management, BLE protocol stability, and firmware integration for open-ear transducers in high-wind environments.
- Engineering Best Practices (Vizag Hub): Help establish best-in-class Rust testing, automated benchmarking, memory optimization, and CI/CD pipelines for cross-platform releases and firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates.
What We Are Looking For
- Professional systems engineering experience with strong, demonstrated proficiency in Rust.
- Core Tech Stack Proficiency: Deep expertise in Rust (concurrency, memory safety, async I/O with tokio/async-std, and cross-compilation for mobile/embedded platforms via cxx or uniffi).
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols, streaming binary data, and edge computing.
- Familiarity with C/C++ (for system/firmware interop), Python, and general mobile architecture (Swift/Kotlin/Flutter integrations).
- Telemetry & Real-Time Processing: Experience handling real-time data pipelines, mathematical operations, or lightweight AI/ML models on resource-constrained devices.
- Domain Passion: High affinity for sports technology, wearables, or endurance sports (cycling, running, triathlon). Being a cyclist who understands power meters, FTP, and training metrics is a big plus!
Location
Based in or willing to relocate to Visakhapatnam (Vizag) to work with our core R&D team.
Requirements
Rust proficiency
Professional systems engineering experience with strong, demonstrated proficiency in Rust.
BLE protocols
Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols and streaming binary data.
Real-time processing
Experience handling real-time data pipelines and lightweight AI/ML models on resource-constrained devices.
Mobile integration
Familiarity with mobile architecture including Swift, Kotlin, or Flutter integrations.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with C/C++ for system and firmware interoperability.
A high affinity for sports technology and endurance sports is a plus.
