Software Engineer, Systems ML - Compilers / Backend

About the Role

The Software Engineer, Systems ML - Compilers / Backend role involves developing a compiler tool-chain for deep learning hardware components optimized for AR/VR systems. You will work on architecting and implementing a compiler that compiles PyTorch models for custom hardware accelerators, collaborating with experts in various fields to enhance performance and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Analyze and design effective compiler passes and optimizations.
• Implement and/or enhance code generation targeting machine learning accelerators.
• Work with algorithm research teams to support the co-design of hardware features mapping ML graphs to hardware implementations.
• Contribute to the development of machine-learning libraries, intermediate representations, export formats, and analysis tools.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our toolchains.
• Conduct design and code reviews, evaluate code performance, and debug issues.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• Experience in software design and programming in Python and/or C/C++.
• Experience in AI framework development or accelerating models on hardware architectures.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Experience adhering to responsible, ethical AI practices.
• Experience in deep learning algorithms and techniques.
• Experience developing in a mainstream machine-learning framework.
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development.
• Experience working on an active compiler toolchain codebase.
