About the Role
About the Role
As a Senior Rust Engineer, you will be part of a team building a customer-facing API that enables language models to access high-quality data. This role requires strong technical skills, collaboration with non-technical stakeholders, and a genuine interest in understanding business problems.
What You'll Do
Join one of the most established data businesses in Germany as we look to bring on a Senior Software Engineer into a core area of their growing product.
The team is building an API that allows language models inside large companies to access and trust high-quality data. You're not just building another internal product, this is a customer-facing platform being sold directly to large businesses, meaning engineering works closely with Sales and customers to understand requirements and solve problems.
Who You Are
We are hiring a Senior where technical ability is only part of the picture. We're looking for someone who can write high-quality code, work collaboratively, communicate with non-technical stakeholders and genuinely wants to understand the business problems behind what they're building.
The team works primarily with Rust, with AWS CDK also highly desirable. You don't need to have every part of the stack already, but you do need to be genuinely motivated to learn and work with Rust.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with the level of experience and maturity expected of a Senior Engineer.
- Strong experience working in collaborative engineering teams, we're specifically not looking for lone wolves.
- Experience with Rust, or a very strong willingness and ability to pick it up (coming from type languages is fine).
- AWS CDK experience is highly preferred, although there is scope to upskill if you have the right mindset and communication skills.
- Experience building high-quality, production-grade software where reliability and quality matter.
- Someone who enjoys shorter development cycles while still thinking about the longer-term technical direction.
- Someone who actively uses AI to improve their workflow but doesn't rely on it to do their thinking for them.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work on an API powering AI and LLM use cases for large enterprises.
- A genuinely dynamic engineering environment sitting directly alongside the revenue organisation.
- The chance to work closely with customers and have a visible impact on the product.
- Short development cycles without losing sight of longer-term technical goals.
- The opportunity to deepen your Rust expertise and work with modern AI-enabled engineering workflows.
The biggest thing we're trying to avoid is the "lone wolf" engineer, people who can get things done quickly but don't collaborate, communicate or bring the wider team with them will not work here.
If you feel this is a match and you either have Rust experience today or looking to learn it, then let's speak!
