About the Role
What You'll Do
Write and ship production Solana programs using Anchor - token management, staking, multi-stakeholder reward distribution, and the full hotspot onboarding lifecycle.
Build backend services in Node.js/TypeScript that talk to the Solana RPC layer, listen to on-chain events, and keep blockchain state in sync with our off-chain systems.
Design data models in MongoDB for operational data and ClickHouse for high-volume analytics.
Own the backend powering the Dabba Explorer - APIs for real-time hotspot status, staking positions, reward claims, and token burn/mint events.
Build integrations with Solana DEXs, DePIN partner protocols.
Participate in design and architecture decisions - we're a small team, your opinions on how things should be built actually matter here.
Take ownership of on-chain security - reviewing programs for common vulnerabilities, writing adversarial test cases, and preparing programs for third-party audits.
Write tests that actually cover the hard stuff - not just happy paths, but edge cases, failure modes, arithmetic boundary conditions, and simulated attack scenarios against a locally spun-up validator state.
Who You Are
You've spent 2+ years shipping on Solana mainnet, programs with real users, real tokens, and real stakes if something goes wrong.
Deep Anchor experience: PDA derivation and canonical bump handling, writing secure CPIs with correct privilege escalation and signer seed validation, custom account constraints and discriminator checks, zero-copy deserialization for large account state, compute unit budgeting, and multisig upgrade authority flows.
Experience with on-chain token mechanics: SPL tokens, emission schedules, burn instructions, staking/vesting contracts.
Strong Node.js/TypeScript skills on the backend: REST APIs, background workers, event-driven systems, solid async patterns.
MongoDB for operational data, ClickHouse for analytics, Redis for caching and queues - should be comfortable across all of these platforms.
Comfortable with the basics of DevOps: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deploying to cloud environments. You don't need to be running Kubernetes, but you shouldn't need to hand off a deployment either.
Someone who's genuinely comfortable owning integrations - reading third-party docs, making it work, and not waiting for someone to hand you a spec.
A good eye for on-chain security: missing signer checks, unchecked arithmetic, insecure CPI targets, PDA substitution attacks - you know these and you think about them before someone else points them out.
Backend security isn't an afterthought for you either - you understand how to harden services that are directly handling wallet interactions and token flows.
You write tests like someone who's been burned before - unit tests for individual instructions, integration tests that run against a local validator with realistic state, and E2E tests that simulate entire user journeys.
