About the Role
The Senior Rust Engineer role involves designing and building high-performance systems in Rust while owning projects from architecture to production. You will solve complex problems related to performance and reliability, mentor other engineers, and contribute to engineering standards.
What You'll Do
- Design and build high-performance systems in Rust
- Own projects end-to-end, from architecture and technical design through to production
- Solve complex problems across performance, concurrency, distributed systems and reliability
- Work closely with other senior engineers to establish technical direction
- Profile, benchmark and optimise systems at scale
- Contribute to engineering standards, architecture and best practices
- Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the team
Who You Are
- Strong professional experience with Rust
- Excellent fundamentals in systems programming and software engineering
- Deep understanding of concurrency, memory management and performance
- Experience building and operating production systems at scale
- Strong knowledge of Linux and modern development tooling
- Ability to reason about complex technical problems and make pragmatic engineering decisions
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Experience with distributed systems, networking, low-latency systems, databases, infrastructure or high-performance computing would be particularly valuable.

Requirements
Rust programming
Strong professional experience with Rust is essential.
Systems programming
Excellent fundamentals in systems programming and software engineering are required.
Concurrency knowledge
A deep understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance is necessary.
Production systems experience
Experience building and operating production systems at scale is important.
Nice to Have
Strong knowledge of Linux and modern development tooling is beneficial.
Experience with distributed systems, networking, or high-performance computing would be particularly valuable.
