About the Role
The Rust Engineer will lead a significant migration project from Python to Rust, focusing on building and optimizing high-performance production services. This role involves direct collaboration with the CTO and tackling complex challenges related to latency and throughput in a fast-paced AI infrastructure environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead a high-impact Python → Rust migration from architecture through rollout
- Build and optimise production Rust services at serious scale
- Tackle latency, throughput and performance challenges
- Work directly with the CTO on technical strategy and roadmap
- Ship infrastructure handling 1B+ requests/month
Who You Are
- 2–5 years of production Rust engineering experience
- Experience building production Rust services or migrating systems to Rust
- Deep expertise in Rust
- Strong performance testing and optimisation skills
- CS/technical degree from a top US university
- Based in the US and willing to work on-site in San Francisco

Requirements
Production Rust experience
2–5 years of production Rust engineering experience is required.
Performance testing skills
Strong performance testing and optimisation skills are necessary.
Technical degree
A CS/technical degree from a top US university is preferred.
Nice to Have
Experience with Python is beneficial for the migration project.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Redis is a plus.
