About the Role

As a System Development Engineer in the Transportation Financial Services team at Amazon, you will develop automation solutions that enhance financial operations across the global transportation network. Your role involves tackling complex challenges in financial data processing and creating systems that ensure accurate reporting and seamless migrations.

What You'll Do

Design and implement automated solutions for device migrations and financial system transitions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Develop metric generation systems and reporting tools that enable accurate financial book closures and provide visibility into transportation financial operations.
Write clean, maintainable code using optimal data structures and algorithms while considering tradeoffs, limitations, and performance constraints.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues by addressing support tickets, diagnosing system problems, and implementing solutions that improve customer experience.
Enhance existing features and build new capabilities that simplify adoption for internal customers and improve the overall reliability of financial systems.

A Day in the Life

You'll start your day reviewing support tickets and prioritizing issues that impact financial reconciliation and ledger posting configurations accuracy. You might spend developing automated solutions for upcoming migrations, ingestions then collaborate with partner teams to enable new reports needed for monthly and quarterly book closures. You could be enhancing system features to make data adoption easier for business teams or debugging a complex issue in the metric generation pipeline. Throughout the day, you'll participate in code reviews, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to technical discussions that shape the future of transportation financial systems.
