About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and building Go microservices that support a cutting-edge Autoscoring platform. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop scalable REST APIs and ensuring the reliability of services through automated testing.
What You'll Do
- Designing and building Go microservices running on Kubernetes
- Building well-designed, scalable REST APIs
- Creating and evolving database schemas
- Writing automated tests and owning services through their production lifecycle
- Working closely with our frontend, mobile, product, and hardware teams to ship features end to end
- Sharing knowledge through code reviews and pair programming
Who You Are
- 5+ years commercial programming experience (Ideally with 2+ years with Go but open to similar programming experience)
- Solid grounding in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD
- Comfortable with REST API design, SQL, and microservices architecture
- Experience with test automation, unit and end-to-end testing
- Cloud experience (any major provider), Git, and Agile ways of working
- A collaborative mindset — happy to pair program and work cross-functionally

- A Computer Science degree
- Sports or gaming industry experience
- Hetzner cloud knowledge
- Machine learning exposure
- Familiarity with JavaScript/React (handy for working with their frontend team)

Requirements
Go programming experience
5+ years of commercial programming experience, ideally with 2+ years in Go.
Kubernetes and Docker
Solid grounding in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
REST API design
Comfortable with REST API design, SQL, and microservices architecture.
Test automation
Experience with test automation, unit and end-to-end testing.
Cloud experience
Familiarity with any major cloud provider, Git, and Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
A degree in Computer Science is a plus.
Experience in the sports or gaming industry is advantageous.
Knowledge of Hetzner cloud services is a bonus.
Exposure to machine learning concepts is beneficial.
Familiarity with JavaScript/React is handy for collaboration with the frontend team.
