About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Remilia Corporation, you will be part of a small team responsible for building a consumer social platform that integrates various features like real-time chat and a virtual economy. You will work on diverse engineering challenges, including identity/auth, APIs, and database architecture, while having end-to-end ownership of your projects.
What You'll Do
Work on identity/auth, APIs, content systems, database architecture, and client UI.
Engage with interesting engineering problems such as graph queries on a relational database, real-time presence, and content systems that outlive their feeds.
Who You Are
You have a portfolio of interesting work and experience shipping features end to end. You may have founding-engineer or 0→1 experience on small teams.
Background or interest in real-time systems, systems programming, relational schema, media pipelines, or in-game social systems is preferred.
Not This Role
This position does not focus on platform engineering, distributed systems, SRE, or AI/ML research.

Compensation
Compensation Range: $100K - $220K
Requirements
Portfolio of Work
You should have a portfolio showcasing interesting projects.
End-to-End Feature Shipping
Experience in shipping features from start to finish is essential.
Small Team Experience
Founding-engineer or 0→1 experience on small teams is preferred.
Real-Time Systems
Background or interest in real-time systems like WebSockets is beneficial.
Relational Schema Knowledge
Experience with data modeling, indexing, and query design is important.
Nice to Have
Experience with C/C++/Rust is a plus.
Familiarity with media upload, processing, and delivery is advantageous.
Experience with chat, community, or UGC products is a bonus.
