About the Role

The Senior Rust/Java Developer will lead the design and delivery of low-latency eTrading controls and regulatory reporting for the Fixed Income business. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the integration of real-time risk controls and regulatory reporting infrastructure while maintaining execution speed and data integrity.

What You'll Do

Partner with Markets eTrading management, trading desks, risk, and compliance to define architecture for real-time pre-trade risk controls and the regulatory reporting platform.
Design and deliver the latency-critical control and reporting paths in Rust, owning end-to-end design of real-time pre-trade risk checks.
Lead integration and hand-off with the existing Java-based trading and reporting stack.
Build and maintain the regulatory reporting infrastructure with an audit-first design.
Own the latency budget for controls, profiling, and tuning hot paths to meet strict SLAs.
Implement robust detection and escalation for control and reporting failures.
Serve as advisor and technical lead to the engineering team, championing Rust adoption.
Assess risk when technical and architectural decisions are made.

Who You Are

8+ years of relevant experience in application development, systems programming, or low-latency platform engineering.
Deep, production-grade experience with Rust in latency-critical systems.
Demonstrated expertise in low-latency engineering.
Proven experience in electronic trading controls and regulatory compliance.
Subject Matter Expert in real-time pre-trade risk and control systems.

Bonus Points

Experience with kernel and network tuning, busy-polling, and cache-line optimization.
Strong working knowledge of Java and the ability to bridge the two ecosystems.
