Role Description
The Senior Consensus Protocol Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Ahmedabad Area. In this role, the engineer designs, implements, and optimizes consensus algorithms for distributed systems and blockchain platforms, ensuring robustness, scalability, and fault tolerance. Day-to-day tasks include researching state-of-the-art consensus mechanisms, developing and reviewing protocol specifications, writing high-quality production code, and performing performance analysis and optimization. The role involves close collaboration with blockchain, backend, and DevOps teams to integrate consensus components, maintain security best practices, and support system reliability in production environments. The engineer also mentors junior team members, contributes to technical architecture decisions, and participates in code reviews and documentation to maintain engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in distributed systems, consensus algorithms (e.g., PoS, BFT variants, Raft, Paxos), and networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency in one or more systems programming languages such as Go, Rust, C++, or Java, with experience building high-performance backend services.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain platforms, cryptographic primitives (signatures, hashing, key management), and secure protocol design.
• Advanced skills in algorithm design, data structures, performance tuning, and debugging complex, concurrent systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools for large-scale, distributed deployments.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role on protocol, core infrastructure, or blockchain projects is highly beneficial.
