The Software Engineer role involves designing and building scalable backend systems while solving complex problems related to performance and reliability. You will take ownership of projects from design to production and collaborate with a technical team to improve system observability and automation.
What You'll Do
- Design, build and improve scalable backend systems.
- Work on challenging problems around performance, reliability and scalability.
- Take ownership of projects from initial design through to production.
- Debug complex issues across distributed systems and production environments.
- Improve system observability, reliability and automation.
- Collaborate with engineers and wider product teams to solve technical and customer challenges.
- Contribute to technical design, documentation and engineering best practices.
- Help simplify complex systems and continuously improve the overall platform.
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend engineering experience.
- Interest or experience in distributed systems, data infrastructure or other complex technical systems.
- Experience with Rust / C++ / Go is a plus, but willingness to learn is more important.
- Strong understanding of software performance, reliability and scalability.
- Experience taking ownership of projects through to production.
- Comfortable debugging complex technical problems.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain technical decisions.
- A curious, pragmatic engineer who enjoys tackling difficult problems and finding simple solutions.
