About the Role
Scientific Software Engineer
If you're the type of engineer who enjoys solving genuinely difficult technical problems, wants your work to have real-world impact and loves building software that interacts with complex hardware systems, keep reading.
We're building a next-generation software platform that connects robotics, sensors and autonomous systems, enabling them to work together seamlessly in demanding environments. It's technically challenging, highly ambitious and we're looking for exceptional engineers to help us scale it.
Why join us?
- Work on problems that actually challenge you.
- You'll be developing high-performance software at the intersection of robotics, distributed systems and autonomous technology, not another CRUD application. You will be building real-time systems that have a real world impact.
- We're language agnostic. Our core platform is built in Rust, but we hire great engineers, not specific programming languages. Whether your background is Python, Java, Kotlin, C++ or something similar, we'll help you get up to speed.
- Join a world-class team. You'll work alongside experienced engineers from some of the UK's best technology companies, giving you the chance to learn from outstanding people while helping shape the future of the business.
- Be part of a well-funded startup. We're backed by significant investment, growing quickly and building technology with real-world impact in the security sector.
- Get rewarded properly. We offer an excellent salary, meaningful equity and the opportunity to make a genuine impact from day one.
What we're looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with languages such as Rust, Python, Java, Kotlin, C++ or similar.
- An interest in solving complex engineering problems and building reliable, high-performance software.
- Someone who enjoys collaborating with other engineers and customers to solve challenging technical problems.
- Mapping skills is a plus, Mapbox, Deck.gl, Cesium, Three.js and React Three Fibre.
How we work
We're building a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture, so we're looking for people who enjoy spending time with the team. You'll be happy working from our office regularly and travelling locally to customer sites when needed (typically up to three days per week).
Eligibility
Due to the nature of our work, you'll need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance, which generally means you've lived in the UK continuously for the last five years. Unfortunately, we can't offer visa sponsorship for this role.
If you're looking for a role where you'll solve hard technical problems, work with exceptional engineers and help build technology that matters, we'd love to hear from you.
