About the Role
About the Company
We’re partnering with an enterprise fintech building infrastructure that unifies traditional and tokenized assets into a single operating layer. Its platform enables financial institutions, exchanges, asset managers, trading firms, and fintechs to coordinate complex workflows across asset classes with real-time data, AI, and automation. This is an opportunity to help build core infrastructure for the next generation of financial markets.
About the Role
As a Senior Rust Backend Engineer, you will work across the platform with a high-performing engineering team. You’ll design, architect, and build core and edge services, APIs, and adapters for a scalable, event-driven transaction workflow engine built on an AI-native data model.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver reliable, secure, high-performance software across core and edge services, APIs, adapters, libraries, databases, cryptography, and network communications.
- Build integrations using messaging and event-driven patterns across smart contracts, blockchains, digital-asset venues, traditional financial rails, and banking systems.
- Help evolve an AI-native digital-twin model, including rich relationships, state, and financial-ontology graphs that AI systems can query, reason over, and act upon.
- Bring strong practices around AI coding assistants and agentic tooling, such as Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor, to improve engineering velocity and code quality.
- Expand test coverage, automate integration testing, improve observability, and benchmark performance.
- Apply secure engineering practices throughout the product lifecycle, appropriate for enterprise systems handling money and assets.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Rust experience across backend architecture, microservices, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong experience with gRPC, message queues such as Kafka, distributed computing, and networking fundamentals.
- Deep familiarity with LLM APIs, including function calling, structured outputs, RAG, tool use, and agentic systems.
- A practical, thoughtful approach to using AI coding tools: where they accelerate work, where human judgment matters, and how teams should work with them responsibly.
- Experience with ledgers, settlement, custody, clearing, or core banking is especially valuable.
- Experience delivering highly available, mission-critical backend systems with strong recovery mechanisms and observability.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High ownership, strong craftsmanship, collaborative instincts, and a “find the path forward” mindset.
Nice to have
- Experience in crypto, digital assets, banking, payments, or financial infrastructure.
