Backend Application Engineer

About the Role

The Backend Application Engineer role at Bright Vision Technologies involves designing, building, and operating high-throughput backend platforms that support various engineering teams. This position requires a strong focus on developer experience and operational efficiency, as well as expertise in distributed systems and platform engineering.

What You'll Do

• Design and build internal platform services and shared infrastructure that hundreds of engineers depend on every day.
• Architect high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend platforms capable of sustaining very high request volumes.
• Build durable, replayable event-processing pipelines and asynchronous job execution platforms.
• Design and operate caching, rate-limiting, and request-shaping layers.
• Develop platform abstractions, SDKs, and paved-road libraries.
• Establish robust observability, SLOs, and capacity-planning practices.
• Drive multi-region, fault-tolerant, and geo-distributed designs.
• Lead incident response for high-impact platform issues.
• Define and enforce platform-wide standards around API design and deployment.
• Optimize platform performance through careful profiling and data-driven tuning.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and SRE teams.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and lead architectural discussions.
• Continuously evaluate emerging platform technologies.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.

Compensation

Salary Range: $100,000–$150,000 Annually
