About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Rust Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing the core components of our coaching platform, focusing on both mobile applications for Android and iOS and our backend infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and scaling our software systems to support real-time, sensor-driven coaching experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that combine AI, biomechanics, and sensor technology to revolutionize sports training. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and end-users to create category-defining products that deliver exceptional value and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven passion for sports, especially skiing, with beginner skiers encouraged to apply.
• Extensive experience maintaining scalable codebases in Rust, Go, C++, or similar languages in a production environment.
• Strong commercial background working with Rust, Go, C++, or equivalent languages, demonstrating the ability to deliver reliable and efficient software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a relentless bias for action, with a focus on delivering impactful results.
• Experience working in small, agile teams, ideally within startup environments, with a track record of adaptability and innovation.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Rust codebase, from system architecture to implementation, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
• Maintain and scale our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to support growing user demand and data processing needs.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and end-users to develop innovative coaching features powered by AI and sensor data.
• Implement real-time coaching functionalities, rigorously testing these features on ski slopes to ensure accuracy and reliability in dynamic environments.
• Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in Rust, and best practices, integrating new techniques to enhance our platform.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative development environment.
