Our platform enables organizations to streamline hiring, strengthen employer branding, and drive measurable recruitment outcomes at scale.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and highly capable Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve robust, scalable applications that power our products.
This is a full-stack software engineering role with a strong emphasis on back-end development. Strong professional experience with Rust is essential. You’ll use Rust to develop secure, reliable, and high-performance services while contributing across the wider technology stack, including APIs, databases, front-end applications, cloud infrastructure, observability, and delivery pipelines.
As a senior software engineer, you’ll take ownership of complex technical initiatives from design through production. You’ll work closely with the Tech Lead to help shape architecture, improve engineering standards, review critical changes, mentor other engineers, and support the continuous development of the team.
You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, platform, security, quality, and other cross-functional teams to turn business and product requirements into well-designed, maintainable technical solutions.
You’ll be expected to balance delivery with long-term maintainability, making thoughtful technical decisions while ensuring that systems remain secure, observable, testable, scalable, and easy to operate.
This role is ideal for an engineer with at least five years of professional experience who combines deep back-end expertise with broad full-stack and cloud engineering capabilities.
What does a great Senior Software Engineer do?
A great Senior Software Engineer builds reliable and maintainable systems while helping others make better technical decisions.
You write clean, efficient, and idiomatic Rust, using ownership, borrowing, strong typing, asynchronous programming, structured error handling, modular design, dependency management, and configuration best practices to create responsive and adaptable services.
You make pragmatic architectural decisions based on product needs, operational requirements, security considerations, and long-term maintainability. You understand when to introduce abstraction, when to keep systems simple, and how to identify and manage technical risk.
You design and evolve relational database architectures, preferably using PostgreSQL, with a strong understanding of schema design, indexing, query performance, migrations, concurrency, data integrity, and transaction isolation.
You develop secure and well-structured REST APIs with clear, versioned contracts. You establish consistent approaches to validation, error handling, authentication, authorization, and backwards compatibility. You are comfortable working with technologies and standards such as OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
Although the role is back-end focused, you are confident contributing to modern front-end applications using technologies such as Vue.js, Angular, or Lit. You understand (web)component architecture, state management, accessibility, browser behaviour, API integration, testing, and responsive user interface development.
Testing is an integral part of your engineering process. You define effective testing strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing. You structure applications for testability, use mocks and test doubles appropriately, and ensure that automated tests provide meaningful confidence without creating unnecessary maintenance overhead.
You design observability into systems from the start. You use structured logging, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and distributed tracing to make services measurable, supportable, and easier to diagnose.
