About the Role
About the role
We are hiring a Rust Engineer to own the end-to-end migration of our AI gateway from Python to Rust, with the goal of making it the fastest AI gateway ever built. You will plan the migration directly with the CTO, structure the codebase from the ground up, and lead a gradual, stability-first rollout. The core mission is improving performance, latency, and throughput for enterprise customers operating at scale.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants their fingerprints on a foundational rebuild, not incremental tickets.
What you will do
- Plan and execute the full Python to Rust migration alongside the CTO
- Architect the codebase for performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability
- Drive a phased rollout that prioritizes stability at every step
- Optimize latency and throughput for high-volume enterprise workloads
What we are looking for
- 2 to 5 years of production Rust engineering experience
- A track record of shipping performant, reliable systems
- Comfort working close to the metal on latency and throughput problems
- Someone who thrives with real ownership and a stability-first mindset
