Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid) with occasional travel to Herefordshire

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and maintain secure software solutions within highly secure environments.
• Build Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Rust, Python or Go.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technical specialists to deliver high-quality software.
• Use Git to manage source code and support collaborative development.
• Containerise applications using Docker to improve consistency and deployment.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following best practice.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement across the development team.
• Explore new technologies and approaches to improve software quality and delivery.

Main Skills Needed

• Commercial experience developing Android applications with Kotlin.
• Backend development experience using Rust, Python or Go.
• Strong understanding of Git and collaborative software development.
• Experience with Docker, containerisation and modern deployment practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps principles.
• Understanding of software architecture, APIs, OpenAPI standards and modern development patterns such as MVVM and UDF.
• Comfortable working in secure development environments, including remote development platforms and virtual machines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is beneficial.
