The Senior Rust Engineer will design and build high-performance backend systems in Rust for a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup. This role involves developing low-latency services, optimizing performance, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver production-ready features.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build high-performance backend systems in Rust.
- Develop low-latency, highly reliable services that operate at large scale.
- Build infrastructure for AI model serving, inference, routing, and distributed systems.
- Optimize performance, memory usage, and concurrency across critical services.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to rapidly ship production-ready features.
- Drive architectural decisions and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong professional experience with Rust.
- Experience building distributed systems, networking services, or infrastructure software.
- Deep understanding of systems programming, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLM infrastructure or AI platforms.
- Familiarity with model serving, inference engines, or API gateways.
- Experience working with high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Previous startup experience.
