About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for experienced Senior Software Engineers with expertise in software development, system design, distributed systems, performance optimization, and scalable application development to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. You'll apply your software engineering expertise to evaluate AI-generated code, build real-world coding environments, and improve the reasoning, coding accuracy, and performance of next-generation AI systems.
No prior AI experience is required. Your software engineering expertise and industry experience are the primary qualifications for success in this role. Professionals with strong backgrounds in backend development, full-stack engineering, cloud infrastructure, open-source contributions, or large-scale software systems are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software applications.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, performance, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
- Apply expertise in software architecture, debugging, feature development, code refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Build and evaluate reinforcement learning environments for complex software engineering tasks.
- Develop automated testing strategies, deterministic verification systems, and reference implementations for AI evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence, code quality, and engineering consistency.
- Translate complex software engineering concepts into clear, structured documentation for AI training and evaluation.
- Mentor engineering best practices through code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative development workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Go, TypeScript, Rust, or similar programming languages.
- Extensive experience with software architecture, debugging, distributed systems, feature implementation, and codebase refactoring.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, system design, and performance optimization.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and software engineering skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to technical detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
- Active contributions to GitHub or open-source software projects.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, reinforcement learning, or AI model evaluation.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and software quality assurance processes.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional or remote engineering teams.
Compensation
Competitive compensation of $50–$150/hour.
