Software Engineer

The Role

Design, build, and ship production Rust services end-to-end, from database schemas to GraphQL and gRPC APIs.

Own features in the cloud GraphQL API, including schema, resolvers, queries, and migrations.

Develop and evolve asynchronous, concurrent systems with Tokio, ensuring correctness under load and observability in production.

Work across gRPC / Protobuf service boundaries, maintaining backwards compatibility.

Contribute to shared foundational crates, focusing on narrow and well-tested changes.

Extend the peer-to-peer architecture, including iroh/QUIC transport, WebRTC signaling, and NAT traversal.

What You'll Need

• Strong production Rust experience, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, and error handling.
• Solid asynchronous Rust experience (Tokio or equivalent) with tasks, channels, streams, and concurrency reasoning.
• Experience designing and operating backend services and their APIs (HTTP / GraphQL / gRPC).
• Production experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design and migrations.
• A solid grasp of authentication fundamentals (OAuth2 / JWT, RBAC or relationship-based access control).
• Comfort with command-line, cloud-native workflows (Docker, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure exposure), and collaborative code review.
