The role involves designing and optimizing a real-time execution platform for a high-frequency crypto trading system, focusing on ultra-low latency and performance. The engineer will work with advanced algorithms and data structures to ensure transactions are executed faster than competitors, while collaborating with quantitative researchers to enhance trading strategies.
What You'll Do
- Architect zero-copy, lock-free pipelines built around ring buffers and cache-aligned data structures.
- Develop custom market data connectivity for crypto exchanges and protocols, tuned for single-digit microsecond latency.
- Engineer execution algorithms and order management with branch-prediction awareness and SIMD-optimised pricing logic.
- Deliver nanosecond-precision timestamps and cross-system synchronisation across distributed infrastructure.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers to merge sophisticated trading strategies with execution velocity.
The Toolkit
Primarily C++ focused, but we're equally interested in engineers with deep Rust backgrounds.
- Profiling and optimisation using perf, VTune, and flamegraphs.
- Deep knowledge of concurrency, lock-free structures, memory ordering, and real-time scheduling.
- Expertise in custom allocator design, CPU cache behaviour, and profile-guided optimisation.
- A habit of benchmarking rigorously: data over assumptions.
Ideal Background
- Proven experience building ultra-low latency systems in trading or high-frequency domains.
- Deep understanding of market microstructure and crypto asset behaviour.
- The mindset of someone who thinks in microseconds and measures in CPU cycles.
- Experience optimising global distributed systems operating under strict latency SLAs.
- Comfort driving technical projects from concept to production at scale.
