About the Role
As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, you will develop software systems to tackle national security challenges. You will collaborate with a team to create, implement, and maintain software applications that support the special operations and intelligence community.
What You'll Do
- Work alongside other developers to architect, implement, and test complex software solutions for advanced RF exploitation and communication applications.
- Work closely with signal processing and communication engineers to develop overall solutions that support sponsor needs.
- Document work in technical reports and informal memoranda as well as present work to sponsors and the technical community.
- Participate in field evaluation of applications and iterate accordingly based on performance and in response to emergent technical and operational requirements.
Who You Are
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or another field relevant to the duties as described above. You have at least 5 years of demonstrated proficiency in full stack software development with any combination of Rust, C/C++, C#, Java, Python, Javascript, or Typescript and web application frameworks such as AngularJS or Vue.js. You are able to work effectively in small, multi-disciplinary teams and can obtain a Secret level security clearance by your start date.

You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you possess a Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or equivalent. You are interested in leading software development tasks and mentoring, and have a willingness to work on quick-reaction projects in support of sponsor's operational requirements.

Requirements
Full Stack Development
You must have at least 5 years of demonstrated proficiency in full stack software development.
Programming Languages
Experience with Rust, C/C++, C#, Java, Python, Javascript, or Typescript is required.
Team Collaboration
Ability to work effectively in small, multi-disciplinary teams is essential.
Security Clearance
You must be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
Nice to Have
Possessing a Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
Interest in leading software development tasks and mentoring is beneficial.
