About the Role
Overview
A global investment management firm is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Operations Technology team in Singapore. You will build and maintain high-volume trade management systems, primarily using Rust while supporting existing C#/.NET services. The role focuses on distributed systems, application performance and AWS-based workloads.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain high-volume trade-processing systems.
- Build concurrent and multithreaded backend applications using Rust.
- Support and integrate with existing C#/.NET Core services.
- Develop microservices and integrations using REST, gRPC and messaging technologies.
- Optimize latency, memory usage and AWS infrastructure costs.
- Provide second-line production support and take end-to-end ownership of critical systems.
- Collaborate with global engineering and business teams.
Requirements
- At least five years of enterprise software development experience.
- Strong programming experience in Rust, Java or C#.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading and asynchronous programming.
- Working knowledge of C# and .NET Core.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, REST or gRPC.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS or similar messaging systems.
- Experience with AWS, including serverless technologies such as Lambda.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira or similar development tools.
- Financial markets, FIX protocol and post-trade experience are advantageous.
Requirements
Enterprise software experience
At least five years of enterprise software development experience.
Rust programming
Strong programming experience in Rust, Java or C#.
Concurrency knowledge
Experience with concurrency, multithreading and asynchronous programming.
C# and .NET Core
Working knowledge of C# and .NET Core.
Distributed systems
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, REST or gRPC.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS or similar messaging systems.
Experience with AWS, including serverless technologies such as Lambda.
Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira or similar development tools.
Financial markets, FIX protocol and post-trade experience are advantageous.
