About the Role
The Software Engineer for Vehicle-to-Cloud will lead the development and operation of edge infrastructure and middleware that connects in-car systems to the cloud with safety and low latency. This role involves full-cycle ownership from requirements definition to operation, focusing on backend and in-car agent areas, while also managing a development team responsible for the Web.Auto platform.
What You'll Do
Initially, you will be part of the development team for the operation management platform, taking ownership of backend and in-car agent areas. You will be expected to engage in both in-car application and infrastructure development while also contributing to cloud-side development.
Specific Tasks
- Design and develop in-car Web.Auto Agent and cloud-side APIs.
- Manage lifecycle for bidirectional communication with the cloud, including download control and rollback.
- Collaborate with Autoware and other in-car components.
- Design protocols for cloud and in-car communication.
- Build and operate a bidirectional communication infrastructure centered on MQTT/AWS IoT Core.
- Work with SRE teams on SLO design and incident response.
- Define requirements with stakeholders and collaborate with QA/QC teams on test design.
- Document user manuals and API references.

Requirements
- Experience in IoT/M2M architecture (5+ years).
- Experience in Linux system programming (3+ years).
- Experience in developing robust systems in C++/Go/Rust/Python.
- Experience in cloud backend development (2-3 years).
- Native-level Japanese proficiency.
Preferred Experiences
- Experience with OTA and firmware distribution.
- Experience managing fleets of thousands of devices.
- Experience in designing rollback control implementations.
Compensation
Estimated monthly salary ranges from ¥666,667 to ¥1,166,667, with a base salary of ¥492,667 to ¥862,667 excluding fixed overtime pay.
