About the Role
The System Software Engineer in Middleware Development will participate in the development of middleware that serves as the foundation for autonomous driving systems using Autoware. This role involves system programming, performance analysis, and integration of middleware into the Autoware framework, contributing to various autonomous driving projects worldwide.
What You'll Do
- Develop and enhance open-source middleware that serves as the execution foundation for Autoware.
- Integrate developed middleware into the Autoware framework.
- Analyze performance and resolve bottlenecks at the OS (Linux kernel) level for Autoware systems.
- Participate in research and development related to middleware and OS technologies.
- Collaborate with the OSS community and disseminate information.

Requirements
- Experience in system programming using C, C++, Rust, etc. (low-level software development).
- A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent capabilities.
- Expertise in low-level software such as operating systems.
- Reading and writing skills for technical documents (e.g., Design Documents).
Preferred Experiences
- Research and writing experience related to system software such as OS, middleware, hypervisors (in Master's or PhD programs or equivalent environments).
- Experience in developing and evaluating the Linux kernel.
Working Conditions
Salary: Estimated monthly salary ranges from ¥416,667 to ¥1,166,667. The base monthly salary ranges from ¥307,667 to ¥862,667, excluding fixed overtime pay. A fixed overtime allowance of ¥109,000 to ¥304,000 will be paid regardless of whether overtime is performed.

Requirements
System Programming
Experience in system programming using C, C++, Rust, etc. (low-level software development).
Computer Science Degree
A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent capabilities.
Low-Level Software Expertise
Expertise in low-level software such as operating systems.
Technical Document Skills
Reading and writing skills for technical documents (e.g., Design Documents).
