About the Role
The System Software Engineer for Real-time Performance will be responsible for researching and developing real-time performance improvements and guarantees for the Autoware autonomous driving system. This role involves software development, system integration, and collaboration with the OSS community to address complex real-time constraints.
What You'll Do
- Research and development on real-time performance improvements and guarantees for Autoware.
- Software development based on research results, including middleware and analysis tools.
- Integration of developed methods and software into Autoware, including performance analysis and kernel parameter tuning.
- Collaboration with the OSS community and dissemination of information.
- Opportunity to write papers and present at conferences if desired.
Who You Are
- You have a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- You possess practical or research experience with Hard (or Firm) Real-time Systems.
- You have programming experience in C, C++, Rust, etc.
- You have skills in reading and writing technical documents.
Bonus Points
- Experience in system programming using C, C++, Rust, etc.
- Expertise in real-time scheduling in Linux kernel or RTOS.
- Knowledge of low-level software such as operating systems.
Compensation
Estimated monthly salary ranges from ¥416,667 to ¥1,166,667, with a base salary of ¥307,667 to ¥862,667 excluding fixed overtime pay.

Requirements
Degree in Computer Science
You must have a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Real-time Systems Experience
Practical or research experience with Hard (or Firm) Real-time Systems is required.
Programming Skills
Experience in programming with C, C++, Rust, etc. is necessary.
Technical Documentation Skills
You should have skills in reading and writing technical documents.
Nice to Have
Experience in system programming using C, C++, Rust, etc. is a plus.
Expertise in real-time scheduling in Linux kernel or RTOS is preferred.
Knowledge of low-level software such as operating systems is beneficial.
