About the Role

The Software Engineer role at Radley James involves joining a highly technical trading team to build high-performance systems for decentralized markets. The position requires hands-on development in Rust and Python, focusing on execution and on-chain integrations while ensuring low latency and high reliability.

What You'll Do

Develop production systems in Rust and Python.
Work on execution, on-chain integrations, and performance-critical components.
Take ownership of the full trading stack.
Collaborate with a small, highly technical team.

Who You Are

Strong production experience with Rust and Python.
Hands-on experience with smart contracts and Solidity.
3–4+ years in crypto or DeFi-native roles.
Deep understanding of decentralized exchanges and the DeFi landscape.
Experience building and maintaining public APIs.
Understanding of trading concepts.
Ability to run and maintain systems on cloud infrastructure.

Bonus Points

Experience designing, writing, and deploying smart contracts.
On-chain trading or strategy development experience.
Familiarity with ecosystems such as Solana, Sui, or Cosmos.
Experience diagnosing performance, latency, or throughput issues.
Interest in product design and user experience.

Compensation

Based in London or working remotely from anywhere in Europe.

Requirements

Rust and Python experience

Strong production experience with Rust and Python is essential.

Smart contracts knowledge

Hands-on experience with smart contracts and Solidity at an application level is required.

Crypto or DeFi experience

3–4+ years in crypto or DeFi-native roles is necessary.

Decentralized exchanges understanding

A deep understanding of decentralized exchanges and the current DeFi landscape is important.

API development

Experience building and maintaining public APIs is required.

Nice to Have

Smart contracts deployment

Experience designing, writing, and deploying smart contracts is a plus.

On-chain trading experience

On-chain trading or strategy development experience would be beneficial.

Ecosystem familiarity

Familiarity with ecosystems such as Solana, Sui, or Cosmos is advantageous.

Performance diagnostics

Experience diagnosing performance, latency, or throughput issues is a nice-to-have.

Product design interest
