As an Ubuntu Software Engineer at Canonical, you will work on designing, building, and shipping software across various teams within the Ubuntu Engineering organization. This role involves integrating open source software, maintaining the Ubuntu distribution, and contributing to the broader open source community.
What You'll Do
Our engineers are:
- Designing, building and shipping software in Rust, Go and Python
- Packaging, integrating, testing and uploading open source software to the Ubuntu repositories
- Debugging system-level issues and delivering robust solutions
- Authoring and improving technical and community documentation
- Contributing to upstream and neighboring open source
Who You Are
This application track is suitable for those at the mid point in their career but perhaps not quite at the Manager/Lead level, with relevant skills to contribute to Ubuntu.

Requirements
Software Development
Experience in designing and building software applications.
Open Source Contribution
Ability to contribute to open source projects and communities.
System Debugging
Skills in debugging system-level issues effectively.
Documentation Skills
Experience in authoring and improving technical documentation.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Rust programming language is a plus.
Experience with cloud application deployment and integration.
