About the Role
About Anduril
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold.
Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
About the Team
The Robotics Data Foundation (RDF) team builds Anduril's vehicle telemetry backbone, from onboard systems to cloud. This includes onboard data recording and backhaul, ingestion into our cloud data platform, normalizing data across flight controllers and vehicle management systems, mission systems, and sensor payloads, and making it available to a range of downstream 1st and 3rd-party analysis tools.
Our vehicle telemetry platform powers software and hardware development, T&E workflows, production incident response, and contractual customer reporting today, and underpins new product development, fleet-wide analysis, simulation, and machine learning workflows.
About the Job
As an engineer on the Robotics Data Foundation team, you will design and build the Anduril-wide cloud systems that host our ingestion pipelines, storage systems, and tooling that carry vehicle telemetry from onboard systems to the cloud and make it discoverable, searchable, and analyzable across the fleet.
You'll normalize data across flight controllers, vehicle management systems, mission systems, and sensor payloads, and expose it to downstream 1st- and 3rd-party analysis tools, and build infrastructure that supports large-scale batch ingestion of recorded telemetry, as well as low-latency streaming.
What You'll Do
- Build reliable and performant cloud data systems that can handle high volumes of telemetry.
- Design extensible telemetry and data architectures for diverse data sources.
- Enable data-driven engineering in real-time for engineers and operators.
- Build cloud-native systems that are also edge-compatible for offline settings.
- Eagerly engage with customers to understand their data requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with modern lakehouse architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake), ETL systems (Flyte, Dagster, Airflow, Argo Workflows), and distributed data processing engines (Spark, Trino, etc.).
- Experience developing and operating high-throughput streaming data pipelines (leveraging systems like Spark Streaming, Flink, Kafka).
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, and/or Go.
Requirements
Cloud Systems Design
Experience in designing and building cloud systems for data ingestion and storage.
Data Normalization
Ability to normalize data across various telemetry systems.
Streaming Data Pipelines
Experience with high-throughput streaming data pipelines using technologies like Spark or Kafka.
Programming Skills
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, and/or Go.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with modern lakehouse architectures such as Iceberg or Delta Lake.
Experience with ETL systems like Flyte, Dagster, or Airflow.
